Peter Kendall

Peter Kendall’s career in General Business Management and Human Resources has been driven by a personal quest to lead and teach others to take ownership in a common strategic direction and the achievement of mutual goals while maximizing  individual potential. He credits his success to his ability to create and lead an environment where individuals can freely express their ideas, learn and grow while working toward a common goal.

After earning his BS Degree in Marketing from the University of Southern California, he took advantage of numerous opportunities to learn and contribute while serving in leadership Human Resources, Materials, Consulting and General Manager Positions. For example, he established the first professional General Manager / Human Resources function for a major Japanese Consumer Electronics Company where he reduced fleet leasing costs by 20%, retirement program expense by $750,000 and managed the shutdown of their Anaheim facility and the lease/buy agreement for a new 80,000 sq/ft facility close to their manufacturing plant in Mexico.

Following this early success, Peter managed a $7 million dollar annual budget and a staff of 17 as the General Manager Administration for Toyota’s West Coast Technical Center. In this position, he led efforts that reduced equipment and service costs by 30%, increased Property and Casualty Insurance coverage while realizing an 11% reduction in premiums and negotiated a facilities sub-lease adding $400,000 to company income. He is most proud of his successful mentoring and developing of people while in this position. Peter successfully managed the cultural and language challenges of this Japanese managed operation through personal mentoring of both American and Japanese staff at all levels.  At the same time, two newly-appointed managers on his staff developed into highly regarded professionals who have since become respected senior level management and financial leaders.

In his most recent role as Vice President of Human Resources, Peter was challenged to change the culture of an old-line, top-down managed manufacturing operation to an innovative, people-oriented, growth company culture focused on customer satisfaction. Through upgrading management, providing consistent and honest communication with employees, coaching company leadership and supporting a lean/six-sigma culture, he helped this company realize the best two sales and profit years in its 40 year history.

Peter provides his clients with advice and counsel where his unique background and experience helps companies and their employees to exceed their potential.
